A great first day of sailing!!! We left Myrtle Beach and headed out into the ocean for a 30nm. run to North Carolina... Averaged more than 7 knots with a 15-20 kt. wind on the beam... seas were 3-5's with some 8's just for fun..... Did I mention a great day of sailing... I set up one of our salt water rods and lookee here... one large diet mackral....
When we came back into the ICW at Cape Fear we had to head through a very small channel, at low tide, scraped the sand a few times but we made it thru.
We are now docked at Seaport Yacht Club in Wrightsville Beach, NC. With all the low tides we say a few people on their sides and on top of the now showing seaweed ( the tidal range is 6 feet up/down here) so we thought the dock was a better choice.
We have decided another West Marine and Grocery/Laundry trip day for tomorrow so will stay here 2 nights. At HIGH TIDE ...lol...on Sunday morning we will, weather gods co-operating, make our way back into the Atlantic and head to Beaufort NC.
