We left Norfolk at 6 am. Traveling thru all the War ships & Air Craft Carriers you are told to stay away or deadly force will be used...so friendly ..LOL
I was a little nervous about heading out into the Atlantic Ocean overnight. As we exited the Chesepeake into the Ocean I saw a pod of dolphins playing beside the boat. That had an amazing calming effect on me.
It was a truly clear blue sunny sky and calm seas, winds 10-15 knots. Greatfully uneventful the morning passed quickly and we made lunch as we watched all the dolphin pods playing on either side of us.
As night fell a big beautiful full moon filled the sky and lit up the ocean. We dutifully watched out for freighters, passing a few, and took turns awake. The stars, without the city lights to interfere, were stunning. For the first time since we left the temperature dropped below 80 f for a few hours over night. This aided the napping.
We arrived at Trump Marina in Atlantic City NJ at 8 am. Napped a little then went out on the town...actually we just wanted to go to air conditioning ...the high hit 113 or so again.
After enduring Coach and a few other stores Kelly and I left Kyle in the poker room at Ceasars Casino and headed to The Pier..which is a fantastic shopping center that overlooks the beaches and Ocean. As you walk thru there are little areas by the windows that have sand and beach chairs to sit and overlook outside but with the added benefit of being air conditioned...very cool.
Kelly and I got fudge, smoothies, brownies, new smelly soaps and shampoos and tried on clothes.
After Kyle was up about $50 from his game we headed back to our boat to meet our friend Billy from Philly who drove up to meet us.
We went to a fabulous place for dinner called The Continental. It rocked !! We did Tapas and ordered all kinds to share. We had Kobe Sliders, Mahi Mahi Tacos, Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Seared tuna, meatballs, rice and more. for desert we ordered 3 different ones and shared. Their in house made ice cream was double malted milk and tasted like Whoppers Candy.
Pleasantly full and ready for bed we wished Bill goodbye and tucked in.
